CS in CMC
I am currently reading McLellan's Phd thesis on Malay-English code switching in CMC on two Brunei's online forums. Not only that I find his thesis relevant to my Academic Exercise's topic but I also find it very interesting. I think his focus on CS in CMC indirectly serves as an eye opener and allow us to see yet another area of difference between CMCs and face to face communication. he also highlighted in the introduction to the thesis how CS in CMC involves more choices by the interlocutors as they have time to rethink which language they want to use to convey their messages before typing them whereas in face to face communication, choices are made more instantly. I will get back to this post once I have finished reading the thesis.
